Who We Are

Transparency Mauritius (TM) is the national chapter of Transparency International, the world’s leading anti-corruption movement present in more than 100 countries. Established in 1998, TM is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit organization committed to promoting integrity, transparency, accountability, and good governance in Mauritius. We work to ensure that citizens, institutions, and leaders uphold the highest ethical standards in both public and private life. Our approach combines advocacy, research, public education, and capacity-building, empowering individuals and institutions to resist corruption and strengthen democracy.

To lead the fight against corruption and promote good governance in Mauritius by:


  • Advocating for stronger laws, systems, and institutions that uphold transparency and accountability.
  • Empowering citizens, especially youth and vulnerable groups, to resist corruption and actively participate in democracy.
  • Monitoring and exposing practices that undermine integrity in public and private life.
  • Building partnerships with government, civil society, and the private sector to advance a culture of ethics and integrity.
